ABOUT OUR CLUB

Jazz Basketball Club was originally started in 1998.

Training is held at Cornubia Park Sports Centre and also Springwood State Primary School.

Jazz Basketball Club’s objective is to provide a safe and inclusive family orientated atmosphere that promotes the sport of basketball for children and to develop our junior players. We encourage all our Jazz Family to be involved in their child’s chosen sport to continue a positive family atmosphere.

Jazz Basketball has continued to grow over the last couple of years and is currently the biggest Club in our Association. We currently have an excess of 300 players and we also currently have over 30 teams each season and this is due to the growth of the Club and from the dedication and the commitment of our Jazz Basketball Club Committee

The Jazz Basketball family boasts a rich history, having been one of the pioneer clubs to emerge from Logan Basketball back in 1998. What began as a smallscale operation has since blossomed into one of the most prominent and resilient clubs in the area. Despite the transient nature of volunteer sports clubs, we have had the honour of witnessing some remarkable families donning our iconic Jazz uniforms.

The Youngs, comprising of Mitchell and Zac, were among the first to etch their names into our proud legacy. They were soon joined by the Taia’s comprising of Ash, Lacey, Taylor and Tony, as well as the Kirisome’s, featuring the duo of Jade and Tane

Other notable families to grace our courts include the Fui’s, boasting a whopping five members: Hazel, Jermaine, Tyrone, Kobe, and Helaina. The Ammars also left an indelible mark, with Tommy and his nephews Michael and John Paul. Last but not least, we have the Diop’s with TJ and Solomon proudly representing our beloved Jazz team. Our current president, Joe Noble, initially ventured into Logan around 2012, where he was drawn to the tight-knit family culture at Jazz. He has since endeavoured to preserve this sense of camaraderie, passing it down to the next generation of budding ballers. We’re proud to report that some of our former players, though now living their lives, have returned to lend their expertise as Coaches for our younger teams.

As a volunteer sports club, Jazz Basketball relies heavily on the generosity of our parents and community members to keep the dream alive. We understand that our achievements would not be possible without the unwavering support of those behind the scenes. To all our families and supporters, we extend our sincerest gratitude. Jazz Basketball wouldn’t be Jazz Basketball without you.
