The competition points ladder will be based on Win % and this will take into account uneven games.

Mercy Rule

We will stop scoring on the scoreboard once a game is over 30 points difference. At this point Coaches are to implement special competitive rules. eg scoring with left-hand layups, teams are no longer permitted to press or force turnovers.

Playing Up

Players may play up a grade for 3 games if a team is short. However, if the player is choosing to stay up an age group after 3 games, there will be a $100 2nd registration fee.

Points Rule and Representative Players

TEAM RULES

  • Be respectful to your team mates and don’t put them down.
  • Make sure you’re at the game at least twenty minutes before tip off.
  • Ensure you have stretched prior to the warm-up on court.
  • The warm-up must be executed properly. Your Coach will arrange a typical warm-up for the team that includes lay-ups, jump shots, and free throws.
  • If you make a mistake during the game, move on and avoid making the same mistake twice. Quickly get back on defence to help the team.
  • Let your teammate know about their good work , congratulate them, and give them a “high five”.
  • Make sure you throw a pass as though you were the one receiving it.
  • Do not complain about the court time.
  • Always train with the intention of playing.
  • Avoid engaging in foul play.
  • Train hard, but take care of your teammates; they’ll support you in winning.
  • You have to think your shot is going in when you shoot. You shouldn’t be shooting if you don’t.
  • Work together as a team to achieve team goal.
  • Let your Coach or Captain question the Refs call – not you.
  • Zero tolerance towards Refs on and off the court, without them we cant play.
  • The only way to be a champion when playing basketball is to be part of a champion team.
  • Most of all enjoy the Jazz experience.
